PHOTOS: Schools Celebrate Class of 2019

 
Frontier High School, Sierra Vista High School and the Whittier Adult School united to hold a joint celebration for its Class of 2019 graduates on June 3 at the Vic Lopez Auditorium. 

Frontier graduated 110 students, the Adult School celebrated 37 students and Sierra Vista graduated 120 students.

Frontier High student Alyxandria Phillips received the Aztec of the Year Award for her leadership and service to the community. Phillips and Sierra Vista senior Micha Miller served as student speakers. Whittier Adult School student Lisa Scates led the Pledge of Allegiance. 

Among Sierra Vista's graduates, 19 graduated with honors and 37 graduated with a Spartan Award. 

The Adult School hosted a Student Awards Ceremony on May 29, honoring 100 students.

“We are so proud of our amazing and talented students, who are heading toward new adventures, attending colleges and universities at home and across the country, pursuing interesting and competitive careers, and overcoming obstacles to pursue their dreams and make their families proud,” Superintendent Martin Plourde said. “Our students are young, their futures are bright and they have received the highest quality education from the best educators around while at Whittier Union. We have no doubt they will continue to succeed and wish them nothing but the best.”
